Comparison between Homeschool and Public School {Collab with Hope}

Heya! Hope and I are doing a really cool (at least in my opinion) collab. Check out her blog if you haven’t! First, both Hope and I will be answering some questions, and then I will answer a couple other questions as well.

1. What time do you wake up in the mornings?

Me: I wake up about 6:00-6:45 to make sure I have time before the bus comes.

Hope: Sometimes, usually just in math or at the end of the year.

2. Do you have tests?

Me: Yes, but only at the end of certain units or the  beginning/end of the school year.

Hope: Sometimes, usually just in math or at the end of the year.
3. What is your usual schedule?

Me: First we have our main subjects. Then is recess and lunch, after that is special.

Hope: I don’t really have a schedule, I just do my work and then I’m done!
4. What time do you normally finish school?

Me: About 2:15 every day, but I don’t get home until 3 (the bus ride isn’t that long, though)

Hope: It really depends, usually sometime before lunch. (me: Lucky!!)
5. What time do you usually start school?

Me: About 8:30 in the morning, but I have to leave earlier.

Hope: After breakfast and worship time.
6. If you become a parent, will you want to homeschool them or have them go to public school?

Me: I like the idea of Homeschooling and public school, but it depends on how many kids I have, and what the kid’s needs are. I also like the idea of Christian private school, but it depends on how religious we are.  Also, if I do end up traveling for my job (or just travel a lot), I may decided to homeschool because my kid(s) may have to miss a lot of school if they go to public school.

Hope: I really don’t know, I’ll probably homeschool, but if I couldn’t for some reason then I’d put them in a Christian private school.

7. Do you have to go to school if you are sick?

Me: If I have a cold, then yes. But if I have a fever, no.

Hope: Yes, I do if I feel Ok enough to, but if I’m really sick then I don’t.

 

Now I am going to answer a few questions about public school…

1. Do you like public school?
Yes, but sometimes it feels like school never ends!
2. How many people are in your class?
About 24, but we mix up for some classes, and some kids go to different classes.
3. Are there mean kids?
A couple, but not that noticeable. And that’s mostly roasting type stuff.
4. Do you have a lot of friends?
I do have a couple friends, I feel like my school is very friend-friendly. XD
So there are some big differences but also some similarities too! Oh, and Hope, I may have changed a couple of my answers. Hehe.

        1. Pretty good. Though one kid barfed (in the nurse’s office, but another kid was there and saw!) so we cleaned the classroom (like everybody sprayed EVERYWHERE). If you didn’t know, I’m petrified of germs. Other than that, it went well. (sorry if I got you too grossed out!)

          2. EEWWW!!!! THAT IS SO GROSS!!!! Don’t worry, I don’t mind. I am also petrified of germs, so you are not the only one. That does sound REALLY gross though.

            1. I KNOW!!!! A couple of kids in that homeroom have… I should stop talking about this! Wait, are you homeschooled or do you go to public/private school?

                  1. Cool! No, I don’t do co-op. I was going to do one at my old church, (That means the one that I don’t go to anymore) but it closed down. 😦

                    7. I’ve read the first in the Like Sisters! And the first Emily Windsnap! I like Amina’s Voice and the first of the Keeper of the Lost Cities books (I’m reading that one right now).

                    9. Uhh… idk. Well, so where I live it’s always cold in January. But today, it was in the 50s! I wish I had worn a sweatshirt to school, but I did in the afternoon! It felt SO good to wear a sweatshirt! idk, I love sweatshirts.

                    13. Yeah! Mine was pink with a design on the sleeves and hood. It does have a hood, but it’s not a hoodie type sweatshirt. I may have to go soon, but I think I can talk for a few more minutes!
